About
Nahuel Castello is an aeronautical engineer from UTN who brings together two schools of the space industry: institutional missions built to ECSS standards and the agility of NewSpace. For over ten years he worked at CONAE, Argentina's space agency, where he led the thermal control programme for the SAOCOM 1A and 1B satellites, managed thermal vacuum testing and was technical lead for the SAOCOM 1B environmental test campaign. He took part in the SAOCOM 1A launch campaign at Vandenberg, California.
From 2020 to 2025 he worked at Satellogic, where he led the thermal discipline, managed the fleet's thermal module and served as mission system engineer: he took part in the design, verification and in-orbit commissioning of dozens of Earth observation microsatellites and introduced the Flight Thermal Model concept. He now heads aerospace R&D at UTN and teaches Spacecraft Thermal Control and Aerodynamics at UNSAM. He was recognised by the Presidency of the Buenos Aires Provincial Senate for his contribution to the SAOCOM mission.
