About
Noel de Castro is a biomedical engineer with a master's in Aerospace Engineering and Argentina's first astronaut candidate. Her path brings two worlds together: biomedical engineering applied to life-support systems and space exploration centred on the human body. Her preparation includes parabolic flight, neutral buoyancy diving and survival training, and she is training as a private pilot.
In Salta she headed the Biomedical Engineering Department at the Instituto Médico de Alta Complejidad (IMAC), responsible for critical equipment such as ventilators, multiparameter monitors and anaesthesia machines. Today she works with VENG on international commercial and institutional partnerships for the Argentine space sector, specialises in bioastronautics at the International Institute for Astronautical Sciences and drives projects that bring space closer to education, science and new generations.
