About
Pamela Such Stelzer is a geologist and planetary scientist. With a PhD in Volcanology and Stratigraphy from Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, she combines research on asteroids, space resources and instrumentation with an extensive career in the mining industry in Argentina, Chile, the United States and Canada. Her approach is multidisciplinary: she connects geology, geochemistry, physics and engineering so that the innovation driving space exploration can also transform industries on Earth.
She is an Affiliate Scientist at the SETI Institute, working on research and technology for asteroids, the Moon and icy moons such as Enceladus and Europa. She was a research fellow at York University (Canada), working with the OSIRIS-REx mission team, a CONICET postdoctoral researcher on asteroid resources and a research associate at the University of British Columbia. In industry she has worked as a geologist and consultant for Anglo American, Barrick and Nevada Gold Mines. Since 2026 she has led space resources and space farming projects as an honorary researcher at Universidad de San Pablo-T.
